Well, you can stop laughing hysterically now. It's true, not a joke. I mentioned to Billy about a week ago about how I was thinking about running a half marathon. I honestly think I had gotten a temporary wild hair, because if you know me at all then you'd know I'm not much of a runner. You're more likely to find me in front of my computer rather than on a treadmill. Well unfortunately, Billy took me completely seriously and has signed us up for the Rock n Roll half marathon in New Orleans for Feb 28th. Did you read that FEB 28!!!! that's in 10 weeks!!! I have to go from couch potato to professional runner in 10 weeks!
13.1 miles!!!! Ok Billy coughs at 13.1 miles. He could do that after a week binge of heavy drinking, eating nothing but cupcakes, and not leaving the bed for 10 weeks (although non of that is in Billy's character) But he is a machine and could handle it. Me, on the other hand, not that lucky. I ran 3 miles without stopping a couple months ago and thought I had achieved the best thing in the world. I seriously was waiting on Billy to hand me some sort of trophy, at least a cookie or something! So needless to say, 13.1 miles will be extremely tough for me.
Today starts my training. I have a 10 week training plan and today I must run 3 miles. Ha ha ha I have to laugh thinking about it otherwise I will cry! The training thing I read gave me a whole 10 week plan for running. It also said that the week of the race I must load up on carbs. I think thats the only thing Im excited about. Carbs would be my favorite part of the food pyramid, and now I have an excuse to eat all I want! ha ha ha Did I mention I was studying this plan as I was eating M&Ms in my office?! Probably not the best start. But wish me luck on my run tonight! I'll let you know how it goes.
